The Creative Lab Hawaii Program is a feeder program for DBEDT’s technology and creative industries development and also provides a pipeline of talent for public/private accelerator programs developed through the Hawaii Strategic Development Corporation (HSDC), and the High Technology Development Corporation (HTDC), both attached agencies to the State of Hawaii, Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism (DBEDT).

Founded by the Creative Industries Division/DBEDT (CID) in collaboration with the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and non-profit organizations such as the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF), and the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts (HARA), the CL Program increases opportunities for investment and global export of knowledge-based products and services with a focus on the fields of Screenwriting, Broadband/New Media, Producing, Interactive Media, Music, and Fashion Design.
